In Reuter’s Annual Industry Trends Report of 2023, they found that “many in the industry expressed a desire for more agile working, more personalization of communication, better use of data analytics and strategic planning, and the ability to adapt to new developments and stakeholder changing needs within medical affairs.”¹
Effective project governance, therefore, should provide the opportunities to deliver on these goals. It should establish the criteria to obtain greater insights into the customer journey, and customer needs and expectations, which can then be translated to provide valuable and tangible insights contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
To test this premise, In August of 2023 we conducted an anonymous electronic survey of 30 global Medical Information leaders with regional and/or global responsibilities. Our goal was to better understand how project governance was viewed by the industry and how it might better support the changing needs of the business over time.
